Pentecostal meetings first began in Bedford around 1908, led by Cecil Polhill of the famous “Cambridge Seven.” Early gatherings were held in a simple hut on Hasset Street before moving to Costin Street, where an Assembly was planted. Over the years, ministers like Mr. and Mrs. Vanstone and revivalist Stephen Jeffreys helped the church grow. After meeting in various halls, the fellowship settled in Gwyn Street as “The Full Gospel Tabernacle,” before moving in 1963 to Roise Street, our home today as Bedford Pentecostal Church.

At BPC, our Elders are pioneers of faith, they each provide spiritual oversight and guidance, ensuring the church functions with order and vision. In Pentecostal tradition, an elder is entrusted with shepherding the congregation, teaching sound doctrine, offering counsel, and discerning the movement of the Spirit. Each member of this body plays a vital role – whether in prayer, governance, teaching, or stewardship, working together so the church may flourish in unity and strength. Just as a pioneer charts new paths, our Elder leads with wisdom and faith, pressing forward while remaining rooted in God’s Word. Together, they safeguard the church’s mission and inspire growth in Christ.

Lead Pastor
Hi! I’m Josh Masih, the Pastor here at BPC since 2004.
Having been a part of BPC since my teenage years, I was invited to join the leadership team in 1992, when God placed a calling on my life; right then, I left my secular job to dedicate myself to the service of the church and soon became Senior Leader and eventually Pastor.
Since then, my wife Mary and I have served and been embedded in the growth and development of the church, and it is my greatest joy and honour to lead this church and ensure that the congregation has a healthy environment where they can grow, develop and mature in their Christian faith.

Elder
I’ve been a member of Bedford Pentecostal Church since 2001.
In 2013, I joined the church leadership team in which I still currently serve as an Elder. My responsibilities include overseeing the Stewardship Team and leading the Men’s Hub, which meets monthly.
One of my most impactful experiences was participating in church projects in Uganda in 2009, where I witnessed firsthand the impact our church can make in the lives of others.
Currently, I’m excited to be working on a new project in Pakistan, further extending our church’s outreach and mission. I am grateful for the opportunities to serve and make a difference.

Elder
Although I had been visiting since September 2001, I only became a member of BPC in 2013, after the amazing spiritual journey with my Italian missionary group in England came to an end.
In 2017, the Lord called me to serve Him and His church as an Elder, and since then I’ve been entrusted with various roles in the church like preaching and leading the men’s hub along with another elder and friend, Simon Gill, with whom also, I’ll be honoured to do missionary work with children in need in Pakistan very soon.
I’m married to the energetic Serena, who is one of the leaders of the church’s Sunday school, and I’m the proud father of two jewels, Priscilla and Abigail.

Elder
Hello, I am Graham Arnold and I’ve been attending BPC since October 1983.I am married with two children.
Within the church I have two major responsibilities: the first one is being a part of the Leadership team. As an Elder, we are here to help the members of the church to get closer to God and to facilitate them in their ministries.
My second responsibility is being a co-leader of the music team; I also play the guitar and lead worship during service.
Over the years I’ve been involved in other ministries in the church such as being lyric operator, being a youth leader and being involved in a mission trip to Montana.
I look forward to what God has in store for BPC and for my personal spiritual growth.

Elder
I joined BPC in January 2008 after prayerfully seeking a spirit-filled church and after one service I knew I found the place I needed to be.
A few months later, I was encouraged first to become a Bible study teacher, then to preach on Sunday evenings, all of which enhanced my personal study of God’s Word.
Seeing women grow spiritually and develop an active prayer life is my passion, and in 2010, I got the opportunity to lead the ladies’ monthly meeting, “Pillars of Prayers”.
Three years later, I was invited to join the church leadership, assisting Pastor Josh and the Overseeing members as a Safeguarding Officer amongst other things, ensuring that our church continuously provides a safe environment for children and vulnerable adults.
At Bedford Pentecostal Church, our Heads of Department faithfully lead various, dynamic ministries in BPC, that serve, equip, and build God’s people.
